OUR STORY

In Nepal, so many young girls grow up facing unique challenges—from systemic gender inequality and safety concerns on their daily commutes, to a lack of safe spaces where they can open up about mental health, body changes, and personal struggles. While traditional systems often overlook the real, everyday experiences of growing girls, we saw an urgent need for empathy, safety, and action.
We founded Rigpa Nepal because we believe that no girl should have to navigate her journey alone. Inspired by the ancient Tibetan concept of Rigpa—the pristine, unclouded awareness and inner strength that exists within every person—we wanted to create a haven where Nepali girls can discover their voice, feel completely secure, and unlock their full potential.
As a non-profit entirely founded and run by students, we know firsthand what girls our age are going through. We didn't want to wait for adults or formal institutions to create change. We started Rigpa Nepal to step up as the "older sisters" our community needs—offering peer mentorship, essential life skills, body awareness, and safe spaces so that every girl in Nepal can grow up feeling protected, empowered, and unstoppable.
